I’ve been thinking about the best way to explain Corner Cafe. Any of the normal superlatives used for explaining food just won’t do. For those in the Midwest, it’s a combination of Lambert’s Cafe plus your favorite bakery. For those outside the area, it’s down-home, country cooking at it’s finest. And the bakery offerings have made them famous. Cinnamon rolls as big as a baby’s head and pecan rolls heavy laden with caramel sauce and pecans.
We found the Corner Cafe on one of our first trips to Kansas City to visit my daughter and son-in-law earlier this year. We have visited three other times since then. I’ve been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and never walked away disappointed. On the particular day I decided to take some pictures for the blog, I happened to order liver and onions. I realize I’ll probably lose some of you here but stick with me. Be assured I took some other photos to tempt your tastebuds. Next time your headed into Kansas City, be sure to stop in Blue Springs and fill your bellies with some amazing comfort food!
